Brighton - introduction

Odeon

Brighton is located on the south coast of England, and together with its immediate neighbour Howe forms the city of Brighton and Hove. In 1997 Brighton and Hove were joined together to form the unitary authority of Brighton and Hove as part of the millennium celebrations in 2000.

Brighton is one of the largest and most famous cities by the sea in the United Kingdom. The city experienced rapid population growth reaching a peak of over 160,000 by 1961. Modern Brighton forms part of a conurbation stretching along the coast, with a population of around 480,000.

Classy city is a popular holiday resort for many visitors coming both from the British Islands and abroad. Holiday-goers put away mounds of cotton candy, sneak a peek at the seedy sideshows on Palace Pier, peel it off at England’ s first official nudist beach, and marvel at the almost unbelievable gaudiness of the Royal Pavilion. From the manors on the city’s outer edges to the arcades at the city’s seaside core, Brighton leaves little and everything to the imagination.
